Spice Cake DSP

It’s Sunday and with the time being set back, I am loving having what feels like extra time this morning.  Here are two of my Thankyou cards for  purchasing customers from last week’s workshop.

These are made with the beautiful Spice Cake DSP.   I used Pool Party and Soft Suede CS and the other one uses More Mustard and Soft Suede  I stamped the background leaf with the same ink color as the CS.  The leaves use the Rock and Roll technique again to get some fabulous color. The card on the Left has pool party with more mustard and the card on the right has more mustard with soft suede.  See the cute little tags that are attached to the stems?  The tag punch and stampset really make for some cute additions to your cards.   If you love the Gently Falling stamp set and the Spice Cake DSP as much as me,  you need to get them soon as they are only available until Jan. 3, 2012.  They come from the Holiday Mini and can be purchased through me or my on-line store.  I love fall and all the crunch leaves.  It is fun to watch them swirl in the wind.  Sadly enough, the snow has come and what was on my lawn is now covered inwhite.  It is starting to make me feel like getting my Christmas Cards made though.  I will  have to post some of them later on this week. Have good week and thanks for stopping in.

Free Digital Scrapbooking Downloads

Okay, okay, I have been off the blog for quite some time but I am ready to get going again.  I have been busy making all sorts of fall and holiday items.  Since October and Halloween are over, I guess I’ll skip posting those things and go right into my fall and Christmas items.

I just held a fantastic workshop and sold all sorts of fun items to customers.  So to say thanks I am sending each one a handmade thankyou card they can pass on to someone else.  Hope they enjoy them.  I will share them with you  this week and maybe you will have some inspiration to make some of your own.

Here is the first one I want to show you.

This one was fun to make but took me awhile and a bit of thinking before I felt like I could say it was done.  I started with Pear Pizazz CS.  Took a piece of my Spice Cake DSP which I had embossed with the Square Lattice folder and sponge the edges andplaced that on the card base.  I used the Gently Falling Leaves stampset to create my design and did some Rock and Roll stamping (which I taught at the workshop) to get alot of color on the leaves.  The Ribbon is the Pear Pizazz seam binding ribbon.  I used one of the new Spice Cake buttons to create a frame for my sentiment which I stamped using the Petite Pairs Stamp set.  I added some bling and called this card complete.  It turned out so pretty.  Mostly I was stamp happy as I had come up with the design myself.

Fabulous Touch of Kindness

Nicole used the retiring stampset Fast and Fabulous in the back ground.  She was anxious to try it with some of the new colors that just came out.  She used Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder over the images stamped in Black ink.  Then taking the Touch of Kindness stampset, she stamped the bird bath and little birds.  She used the little “hello” sentiment and framed it in Calypso Coral and added some Daffodil delight ribbon.  She is really learning to make some cute cards.

Stop by again and have a great day!

Touch of Kindness 3 X 3′s

I created some more of the little 3X3 cards.  I think these are so much fun to make.  I used a stampset from the summer 2011 mini catalog.  This is such a fun set and to me it is all about summer and cuteness.  This is only available until August 31 and so if you are thinking you like it, get it soon.

These cards are made using the new in-colors – Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder along with Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango and Whisper White.  First I stamped the cards with my black ink and then I stamped the flower petals, the bird bath, and the cat on colored cardstock and cut them out and glued them over the matching details on each of the cards.  Then using ribbon punch I punch out some coordinating “ribbon” from cardstock and cut it in half to make just a small row of scallops across the front of each card.  The sentiments also came from this same stamp set.  So with one stampset, three colors, a punch, a few markers and a black stamp pad some very cute cards can be created.

Tomorrow I will show you the card my daughter Nicole created using this same stamp set.  So very cute.

July Patriotism

I made this card today with a wheel stamp that is retired and I can’t even remember the name of it.  I wanted to show it to you because it is very simple but turned out so nice.  I love July and showing my patriotism through art.  This country means so much to me.

All I did to make this card is roll the top with versa mark, emboss with gold embossing powder, and then tie some real red satin 5/8″ ribbon around some Night of Navy Card Stock and put it on a Real Red Card base.  The wheel stamps make some really fun and simple cards or backgrounds.  Try one today.  Thanks for stopping by.

Nature’s walk

I was jumpin for joy when I saw that they included this stamp set in the new catalog.  I think it will be a big hit.  I know I am going to continue to use it.  It makes great man, women, birthday, thankyou, you name it cards.  Even though the Designer Paper is no longer available, you can purchase it as a download for My Digital Studio!  This card uses some retired DSP.  I used Not Quite Navy and Always Artichoke together.  It is kind of a different color combination for me but it turned out very pretty.

Birthday Daisies

I got a card in the mail about two weeks ago from Rachel Brumley for my birthday.  How sweet.  I thought I would put it on my blog as it was so pretty and I wanted to share.

This card is made using the “Upsy Daisy” (#111710) stamp set.  She also used Concord Crush CS adn the DSP from the in-color 2010-2012 paper pack and some of the coordinating ribbon.  I love it.  Thank you Rachel.

Wedding gift Bag and Card

I spent the week-end making this cute bag and card for my Nephew and Niece’s wedding this weekend. I had so much fun creating it.  My sister said her main wedding color is purple.  I not sure exactly which purple but I think Elegant Eggplant sounded somewhat like the purple she described so that is what I used.  It turned out beautiful anyway.  This is using the pattern made by Andrea Walford.  If you were to make a $50 purchase from me, I would share this tutorial with you.  I have had so much fun using her pattern to create a lot of purses and cards for my sisters for their upcoming birthdays.  I will share those with you another day.  It was the purfect thing to use for a gift bag for my wedding gift to them also.

This project used a variety of items.  It is so much fun to have a variety of tools and items when trying to put a project together.  The bag was made from Elegant Eggplant DSP from the Regal Paper Pack.  I used the new Wisteria Wonder CS for the flower sponged with Elegant Eggplant ink.  I then spritzed the flower with Shimmer Mist.  In fact, I used a lot of shimmer mist on this flower and while the photo doesn’t show it, it is so sparkly and pretty.  I used three  sets of leaves made with the Little leaves Sizzlit Die (#114511).  I used a large rhinestone in the center from the retired pretties kit, but you could use any brad and stick a rhinestone from the jewels on top and it would have the same effect.   I used Pear Pizzaz Seam binding ribbon around the bottom of this bag and Pear Pizzaz CS for the handles and the leaves.  The leaves were sponged with the new Lucky Limeade.

Then for the tag I took my brand new stamp from the stampset “Occasions Alphabet”  (123598).  I actually got this set free from Stampin’ Up for sales I did a few months back during Sale-a-brations.   How cool is that?   This was the perfect occassion to use this stamp.

The card also has this same cute flower on it.  It was made the same way.  To make these flowers, use your scallop punch and punch out 6 circles.  Sponge the edges for additional color, then spray both sides with water and scrunch them up really tight.  Then open them up, stack together, put a brad through the center, and then pull the scallops up around the brad.  These are so easy to make and so cute.  For the card I used the leaf on my bird punch as it was smaller but you could use the die if you wanted.

I used the Vintage wallpaper embossing folder (#120175) to make my base card.  It is sponged with White craft ink which really made the pattern stand out.  I used the En Francais background stamp (#109521) on Whisper White background to create a focal point on this card.  I used the scallop Border Punch (#119882) with both Elegant Eggplant and Whisper White to border it.  I used some retired 1/4″ Eggplant ribbon.  I tied on one of those cute little tags made with the Jewelry Tag Punch (#117190) and the  Tiny Tags (#118592) stamp set.  I am so pleased with how it turned out.  Hope she likes it as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping in.  If you have any questions, just drop me a comment.  To purchase any of the things to make these projects, just shop in my on-line store.  Have a great day.

Hello Blossoms

Today’s card features a single stamp from the Summer 2011 Mini.  It is called Hello Blossoms.  The Happy Greetings from this same catalog is also a very fun set to have.  I plan on getting a few more cards made with this cut little thing.  These  are only available until the end of August.

   Stamps:  Hello Blossoms, Happy Greetings

Markers:  Daffodil Delight, Mellon Mambo, Wild Wasabi

Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Mellon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White

Assessories: Basic Jewels, Melon Mambo ribbon (retired)

Tools:  Scallop Border Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack

While the ribbon I used is retired, guess what?  The new big catalog that just came out is carrying this in scallop design.  It is really cute and would look just as great if not better on this card.  I don’t have mine yet.    I used my Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight and Mellon Mambo Markers and stamped the flowers across the front of this card. Then I punch the little flowers using my punch pack and put rhinestone jewels on each one.  They turned out so cute.  This was a fun card to make.  Give it a try.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Courage

I have a friend who’s son has joined the Marines and will be leaving for basic training this month.  She wanted some thank you cards made that she could send to people who have done some thoughtful things for them.  When she asked if I could make her some, I was really delighted.  Since this is about as American as you can get -joining the armed forces, it was really fun to do this for her around the 4th of July.  I had just ordered and received the stampset “Courage” and now I would have the chance to put it to good use.  I had a retired set of stamps also that I purchased a few years ago when my own son joined the National Guard.  I just knew between them I could come up with something fun.

Stamps:  Courage

Ink: Night of Navy

Paper:  Night of Navy, Whisper White, Real Red

Tools:  Sponges

This was a very fast and simple card to put together but she loved it.  The other two were made using my retired stampset called, “The Free and the Brave”.

Both of these cards were created basically the same way, just a different stamp

Stamps:  The Free and the Brave (retired), Classic Stars Wheel (retired)

Ink:  Night of Navy, Real Red

Paper:  Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White

Embellishments:  Night of Navy ribbon (retired)

Tools:  Square Lattice Embossing folder, Aqua painter for the Flag

This was such a simple lay out.  My friend had a hard time deciding which one she liked so I made her some of all three.  We stamped Thank you inside.
